Today is Friday, the 15th of May. We went to monument valley today. It was so beautiful. I was trying to figure out names for the different monuments that we saw. One of them I named the "Three Sisters" and then when we got out there, that was the official name. I also saw one that looked like someone doing the "Peace" sign. Then when we got around to the side of it, it looked like three fingers making a "W". Someof the different monuments looked like a bunch of people standing close together. It was a great day. Tomorrow we will be going on the river trip. I am looking forward to that.

We have also been buying some silver jewelry. I will probably be wearing lots of it from now on. I did get one bracelet that has juniper seeds on it. The Navajo say that if you wear it all the time it will keep the bad spirits, or bad dreams, away.

Well, I better go for tonight. I am still trying to catch a lizard! I have seen quite a few lizards but they have all been too fast for me. I am still trying. Mr. 'T' needs a friend!

Today we went to the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest. It was amazing! The colors were beautiful and it was unbelievable that there used to be a swamp and forest in the area. We watched a movie about the area and how the petrified forest was created over 25000 years ago. We will download the pictures later so I can post some of them. We also got a call from Wes, he was offered a job at the Temple Police Department today. He goes in tomorrow to sign the paperwork. Congratulations to Wes. I am sure he is so excited to have his dream job. We are so proud of him. Jeremy also called. Him, Marcie and Alana just got home from Disneyland. They got a free trip when they bought new tires for their car. It sounds like they had a great time. Now we just have to get Tiff and Dan to Disneyland with Hyrum and McKayla. Then I can make scrapbooks for all the families. I certainly have all the stuff, just need the pictures. Love to you all.

We arrived in Tuba City, Arizona on Friday, May 8th. On our way down, we stopped at the Glen Canyon Dam. I remember being there some time when I was a young kid. It still is amazing that the Dam is sooooo big. On Saturday we went over to deliver the school supplies that we brought down with us. Evie was so surprised at all we brought. It was nice to finally meet Evie (Beanie). She was so thankful for all the school supplies that we brought for the kids at the Day School. I will attach some pictures.

Later in the day, we went to Bacavie to the Dance. It was so interesting. We went to Ruby's house. She made us feel like family. The biggest phrase we heard was, "Sit down and eat!" We were able to meet most of her family. What a great experience. Ruby told us about the Kachina dancers and all about the dance.

At Beanie's house, we met Flora. She is the stroke victim that we brought supplies down for. She is such a wonderful lady. I feel blessed that I was able to be part of such a great effort. Flora is only 47 years old. She lives in a tiny adobe brick house with no running water or electricity. She was quite overwhelmed by the generosity of all the people that donated things to her. We were very sad to find out that she is back in the hospital with swelling on her brain.

Well, it is May 2nd! Time sure flies when you are having fun. Dave and I are preparing for a trip down to the Hopi Indian Reservation. We will be doing a Humanitarian project for the kids down there. I am really looking forward to the trip. We will have a great time and have some great experiences. I will have pictures to post when we get back. We had a garage sale yesterday and today. We didn't do too bad considering all the rain today. It has been terrible today. If April showers bring May flowers, I am sure all this rain is going to bring something! I am about ready to start building an ark! Love to you all!

I hope that you all waited for the music to come up. These are some of my favorite songs from Maui. I will have to add a picture to this post so you have something to look at while listening to the music. Have a wonderful day!

Hello to everyone that is tuning in to my blot spot. I am so glad to have you join me. Today is already the 7th of February. Time is sure going by fast. The weather is turning kind of yucky now. I guess we are not over winter yet. Mr. Groundhog said that we have six more weeks of winter and I guess he must be right. It is supposed to start snowing again tomorrow and the next day. We are going to escape down to Southern Utah (St. George) next weekend for our 32nd anniversary. We are really looking forward to the trip and I hope the weather is great. Jon should be coming home in a couple of weeks!! YIPPIE!!!!! I am sure that Marie, Zack and Jazz are really excited to get him home. I will be the happiest mom in the world when Jon is back in Utah. I can't wait to give him a big hug. Well, not much else going on here. I need to run down to check on dinner. I hope that you all are well and having a great day. More updates later! Love Grandma Bert

I got back home to Utah Sunday evening, it was a great trip down to Texas. I was able to see Wes get home from Iraq safely. One down, one more safe return to go. Jon should be getting home at the end of February. Dave and I will be going to St. George over Valentines weekend for our 32nd anniversary. It will be nice to get down to Southern Utah in the sunshine. When I got off the plane from Texas, it was lightly snowing. By Monday morning, it was a blizzard and I was welcomed by a huge pile of snow. That is what winter brings in Utah!

Wes and the kids. He is really home. Rylan and Addie were so excited that they couldn't stop crying. It was the greatest feeling ever to see Wes and know that he was finally home safe and that he never has to go back to Iraq again.
Where's Waldo?
